Workforce and Civics Education

Overview

Workforce & Civics Education

ILG helps public sector employers develop solutions to workforce challenges, and works with local governments to make hiring and retention strategies more inclusive and equitable.

Our efforts include deep engagement with local governments statewide around non-traditional registered apprenticeships, conducting needs assessments and gathering best practices, leading and sharing curriculum for civics education—including for youth and immigrant communities—and more.

Civics Education

Children and youth become aware of local government’s programs and services in their communities through classroom curriculum, discussions with adults and everyday experiences.

As school and home are primary places youth learn about government structure and functions, the resources in this section are available to help explain the role of local government.
