Climate Action Plans

Climate action plans are comprehensive roadmaps that outline the specific activities that an agency will undertake to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Climate action plans build upon the information gathered by greenhouse gas inventories and generally focus on those activities that can achieve the relatively greatest emission reductions in the most cost effective manner.

AB 32 Climate Change Scoping Plan Document

The Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32) required the Air Resources Board to prepare a Scoping Plan to achieve reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in California. The 2017 Scoping Plan Updates approved by the ARB Board provides the outline for actions to reduce California’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Climate Action Planning Framework

ILG partnered with Gateway Cities Council of Governments to prepare a regional Climate Action Planning Framework that local jurisdictions can use to develop a voluntary Climate Action Plan for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in their communities.
