ILG Symposium Focuses on Creating Healthier Neighborhoods for All
Dr. Robert Ogilvie shared his insights on Creating Healthy Neighborhoods for All at the 5th Annual ILG Luncheon Symposium, held in conjunction with the 2009 Annual Conference of the League of California Cities on September 17 in San Jose.
Dr. Ogilvie is program director of Planning for Healthy Places at Public Health Law & Policy (PHLP) (now ChangeLab Solutions). His dynamic talk and a workshop following the symposium outlined how cities can use planning, economic development, redevelopment and other tools to create healthier neighborhoods for all their residents. The workshop included presentations by Heather Wooten, program associate, PHLP, Dana Richardson, director, Community Health Improvement Partners, and Manal Aboelata, program director, Prevention Institute.
