Webinar Series: Advanced Wildfire Risk Reduction
Strategies and Tools for Local Governments
Series Overview
Wildfire in California is not just a “season” but a year-round crisis. In 2025 alone, over 5,300 wildland fires — including two of the three most destructive wildfires in California history — have damaged over 350,000 acres.
Certain communities are more susceptible to wildfire losses. While we cannot change some factors, such as the number of strong, dry wind events, there are several actions local governments can take to stop fires from spreading into heavily populated urban areas (AKA “city-scale loss”) in the first place.
To help local government leaders better understand the multidisciplinary approach of wildfire risk reduction, ILG, Renne Public Law Group, and Renne Public Management Group are hosting a webinar series featuring subject matter experts and real-world practitioners who will provide information and best practices, facilitate discussion, and answer questions to help local governments better protect their communities against wildfires.
