Webinar Hosted February 2010

Webinar

Did you know that the state is planning to offer tools and funding to cities and counties to plan more sustainable communities that reduce both vehicle travel and greenhouse gas emissions? This webinar informs participants about some of those resources, and help guide further development of resources cities and counties need to successfully implement sustainable community planning.

This webinar includes:

  • An overview by Julia Lave Johnston, Planning and Policy Director of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research of how the California Strategic Growth Council can assist local agencies in sustainable community planning, including accessing the planning grants available through funding from Proposition 84.
  • Perspectives from an expert panel of local officials on how local planning fits into the process of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.
  • The opportunity to participate in a key discussion about what resources and tools the state can provide to support promising approaches to local planning to reduce greenhouse gases, and information about how to continue this discussion after conclusion of the webinar.
