San Mateo’s Climate Action Plan establishes targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions consistent with statewide levels through strategies such as encouraging all-electric new construction, transportation demand management and building resilience to grid failures through distributed energy resources.

The CAP identifies measures that promote equity, enhance the local economy and improves public health as key co-benefits.
