Daniel J. Chatigny brings over 25 years of comprehensive experience in administrative and fiscal management to his role as County Executive Officer of Placer County. With a distinguished career marked by strategic leadership and a dedication to fiscal responsibility, Chatigny is poised to lead Placer County towards continued success and service to its residents.

Having commenced his journey with Placer County in 2019 as the Finance and Budget Operations Manager, Chatigny swiftly garnered recognition for his adept development of robust budget processes. His tenure saw the achievement of significant milestones, including the advancement of a healthy 10% general reserve and the development of
balanced budgets over four consecutive cycles.

Chatigny was promoted to Deputy CEO in April 2022 and subsequently to Assistant CEO in January 2024 after demonstrating proficiency in budget management, human resources, contract compliance, and business analysis. His board appointment to CEO in May 2024 further attests to his exemplary performance and leadership qualities.

With roots deeply embedded in the Sierra Foothills, Chatigny's prior role as Chief Fiscal Administrative Officer for the Community Development Agency of the County of Nevada equipped him with invaluable insights and expertise. Holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Sacramento State University and an
Executive Master of Public Administration from Golden Gate University, Chatigny has earned a reputation for being an astute leader who sets goals and implements practical processes.
