The Institute for Local Government is hosting a webinar on Understanding California’s Proposed Commercial Recycling Regulations: What Local Agencies Need to Know About the Education, Outreach and Monitoring Requirements on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Register now!

California is poised to adopt new regulations requiring certain businesses to recycle and cities and counties to undertake education, outreach and monitoring activities to ensure that businesses are aware of the new requirements. This webinar will help local officials understand the proposed new regulations, emphasizing what they need to do to be in compliance with the education, monitoring and outreach requirements. The webinar will also include information about new tools available to help local agencies meet these challenges and will provide time for questions and discussion.

The webinar is the last in a series of webinars offered by the Institute for Local Government, with support from the California Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), to help local officials develop commercial recycling programs. The previous four webinars offered by the Institute may be viewed at www.ca-ilg.org/CommercialRecyclingWebinar.

The Institute for Local Government is the non-profit research and education affiliate of the League of California Cities and the California State Association of Counties.
