About Calexico

The City of Calexico is the second-largest city in Imperial County. It is situated on the Mexican border, and linked economically with the much larger city of Mexicali, the capital of the Mexican state of Baja California. Calexico’s location provides easy overnight trucking access to all those transportation hubs plus the ports of Long Beach, California, and Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

  • Support the City of Calexico in the development, promotion, and distribution of job announcements for key city positions to ensure a diverse, highly qualified candidate pool.
  • Support new staff by providing training and resources to facilitate their ongoing development and enhance their understanding of their roles.
  • Design and implement targeted training programs for elected and appointed officials to ensure they have the skills, resources, and knowledge to excel in their roles and provide effective leadership for the city.
  • Assist the City of Calexico in ensuring compliance with past grant agreements and securing new grants to help fund critical infrastructure and city revitalization projects.
  • Identify and secure funding, form partnerships, and explore innovative solutions to address traffic congestion, particularly at the Mexico border crossing, while improving overall traffic flow and ensuring public safety.
