About Paramount:

Paramount is a small urban city located in the Gateway Cities region of Southeast Los Angeles County. Once known as a blighted suburb, the city has made dramatic strides to transform through hard work, investment and a business-friendly attitude. The city is working diligently to create a healthy, environmentally-focused community for all of its residents to enjoy.

BOOST Successes:

ILG helped the City of Paramount develop its first ever Climate and Adaptation Plan, which will address air quality and other environmental equity challenges. ILG conducted the public engagement effort and identified new ways that the city can increase ongoing engagement with vulnerable populations.

CivicSpark Fellow Brings New Clean Energy Projects to BOOST Communities

ILG celebrates Hannah Schanzer and the completion of her CivicSpark Fellowship. In fall 2019, Hannah came in like a firecracker, bringing her electric energy, leadership and passion for climate justice and sustainability to her service term. In partnership with ILG and the BOOST communities of Arvin and Paramount, her term at the California Energy Commission has yielded lasting capacity, new programming, and innovative resources that will serve disadvantaged communities, local governments, and the state government for years to come.
