public’s expectations of public servants. Many are

From time to time, the Institute endeavors to save staff time by
researching and drafting sample policies as starting points for
local agency policy-making.
Some local agencies provide officials who are leaving public
service with checklists that can help with required financial
reports and other important tasks.
Although the Institute endeavors to help local officials
understand technical and legal concepts that apply to their
public service, these materials are not technical or legal
advice. Officials are encouraged to consult technical
experts, attorneys and/or relevant regulatory authorities for
up-to-date information and advice on specific situations.
