As part of the Institute’s mission of providing local officials with practical, impartial and easy-to-use resources, the Institute has made available an electronic library of downloadable publications.
ILG resources and publications are available in two different ways: electronic copies are available for download and distribution without charge, hard copies of some publications are available for purchase.
For questions regarding the Institute’s resources call our office at 916-658-8208.
One of the most important responsibilities a local elected official has is oversight of the agency’s spending. The Institute has resources to help newly-elected officials, newly-hired staff, the media and members of the public better understand the administration of local agency budgeting and finance operations.
The Local Government Basics program offers resources and materials that explain the nuts and bolts of local government structures and processes for newly-elected officials, newly-hired staff, the media and members of the public.
