the Institute’s website is dedicated to the life and service of
Ruth Vreeland (1935-2004).
Concerned resident, local elected official, teacher and
Institute board member, Ruth was a passionate advocate for her
community and public involvement.
The Institute has prepared a number of resources in Spanish to
enhance understanding of how local government works among
officials, staff, media and members of the public.
