As cities and counties participating in the Beacon Award program
work to complete the criteria necessary to achieve a Silver, Gold
or Platinum Beacon Award, we are providing the opportunity to
recognize interim accomplishments — including reductions in
greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption in municipal
operations as well as completed activities in ILG’s Climate
Action & Sustainability Best Practice Areas.
As cities and counties participating in the Beacon program work to complete the elements necessary to achieve a Silver, Gold or Platinum Beacon Award, the program recognizes these efforts as Spotlight Awards.
The Beacon Award is sponsored by the Statewide Energy Efficiency
Collaborative, which offers no-cost resources to support the
energy and climate initiatives of California local governments.
