- City and County Youth Commissions and Councils in California Roster
The PECG has compiled the following list of California city and county youth commissions and other local government youth organizations to support communication among these groups and to provide information to those local officials who wish to start a youth commission in their community. Changes and additions to this roster are welcomed and can be emailed to Carmen Pereira at cpereira@ca-ilg.org. - ILG Develops Briefing Papers for Youth Commissions

This was a session at the 2009 League of California Cities Annual Conference. The panel at the session shared stories about youth civic education, discussed citizen academies for Cantonese speakers, and discussed the role of new civic engagement manager positions in California cities. - National League of Cities Institute for Youth, Education and Families (YEF Institute) Publishes New Guide to Help City Leaders Promote Authentic Youth Civic Engagement
A new guide published by the YEF Institute with support from the Surdna Foundation provides a definition of what makes youth civic engagement "authentic" and a framework for providing meaningful opportunities for youth participation in local government. The framework is enriched by examples from cities with robust youth civic engagement initiatives and complemented by a broad array of tools and resources to help cities engage young people in local policy, planning and decision-making. - New Reports on Public Engagement
