AB 1234 Ethics Training for Local Officials

Free Online Ethics Course

To help local officials meet their AB 1234 ethics training requirements, the Institute for Local Government and the Fair Political Practices Commission have developed a free online ethics training course (place cursor on Ethics in navigation bar, click on Local Ethics Training). The course has been approved by the Attorney General's Office and Fair Political Practices Commission.

The Institute for Local Government is offering advanced AB 1234 ethics self-study credit to those officials who have already covered the basic materials required by AB 1234 (see www.ca-ilg.org/ab1234selfstudy).

A free online self-study course is available that enables local officials to meet their AB 1234 ethics training requirements.

As an alternative, the Institute still offers two, one-hour self-study exercises as an option for local officials to satisfy AB 1234 requirements, or to make up for time missed at in-person sessions if the official either arrived late or left early.
