Thinking Outside the Farebox

Resource

This free guidebook is designed to help community leaders across the country meet the demand for transit by raising money to build and operate it outside of the traditional federal funding sources.

The guidebook compares the cost/time horizon of different public transportation projects, clearly lays out financing tools, funding and revenue sources, discusses public-private partnerships and features success stories, including examples from San Diego and Los Angeles.  Download the guide under Documents and Resources.
