Renewable Energy and Conservation Planning Grants Available

The California Energy Commission (CEC) is offering grant funding for the development or revision of rules and policies including general plan elements, zoning ordinances, or a natural community conservation plan as a plan participant, that facilitate the development of eligible renewable energy resources, and their associated electric transmission facilities, and the processing of permits for eligible renewable energy resources.

There is up to $7 million available, with a maximum award amount per agreement of $700,000 and no match funding requirement.

This grant solicitation implements a series of legislation to the qualified counties of Fresno, Imperial, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Merced, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Stanislaus, and Tulare.

 The application deadline is April 10, 2013 by 3:00 PM.
