The “Portrait of America” Road Tour is now officially on the road. The national road tour — expected to cover 150,000 miles — will travel to prominent national events such as the Super Bowl and NASCAR races, while 12 smaller vehicles will stop at local events in each of the Census Bureau’s regions. The regional vehicles have been coordinating stops with local officials and community-based groups that are partnering with the Census Bureau to promote census participation.
