AB 32 Climate Change Scoping Plan Document

The Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32) required the Air Resources Board to prepare a Scoping Plan to achieve reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in California. The Scoping Plan, approved by the ARB Board in 2008 and re-approved with amendments in 2011, provides the outline for actions to reduce California’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Cities & Counties Addressing Climate Change

The Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) has prepared a list of plans and initiatives adopted by California Jurisdictions to address greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. These plans typically involve setting GHG emission reduction goals and adopting implementation measures to achieve those goals. This information is from OPR’s 2014 Annual Planning Survey.

Public Policy Institute of California Releases Report

The Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) released its study on November 18, 2008 examining how cities and counties are responding to climate change. The study is titled Climate Policy at the Local Level, and among the report’s highlights is the finding that 75 percent of California’s cities and counties are actively engaged in climate change issues.
