County of Tehama

Expect More Tehama is a community initiated program in cooperation with the County of Tehama, City of Tehama, Tehama Economic Development Council, schools, Department of Education and non-profit organizations with the intent of improving parental involvement, reading skills and encouraging students to attend higher education.

Additional Collaborations:

  • The Tehama County Adult Services Division partners with the Board of Education in several ways.  Using AB 109 (Realignment) funding, a drug and gang prevention officer is placed at one middle school with a significant problem. The Board of Education provides a resource assistant under contract to the probation department to help with truancy identification, and response and remedial education services to participants in a Day Reporting Center.
  • The County Library offers resources and services to schools both during the year and in summer reading. The library participates in the Accelerated Reader Program, class visits and partnering with Department of Education on the “Big Read.”
