The Institute for Local Government’s website allows visitors to post comments on its publications.
For example:
A visitor who reads about an ethical dilemma in an ILG pamphlet can describe how her agency handled a similar situation.
A visitor reading about commercial recycling ordinances can share a link to resources his agency offers.
How to Post a Comment
To post a comment, choose an ILG publication page (see list below) and look at the gray shaded area on the right-hand side of the screen. Look for a “Comment” button at the bottom (see example on this page).
Click on the Comment button. You may be prompted to enter your user name and password. If you don’t have a username and password, click on the “Create New Account” tab to the left and follow the instructions.
Once you have your user name and password you can return to the item you were interested in and post your comment. For more information about the website and its features, see www.ca-ilg.org/websitetips.
Once you login you will see a screen where you can enter your comment.
Posting your comment is a two-step process.
First, enter your comment and click the "Preview" button below the comment entry box.
When the screen refreshes, review your comment and click "Save" if you are satisfied with your comment and ready to post it.
You can change your comment on the preview screen if you wish. Click "Preview" again to review your changes, and save it when you are satisfied and ready to post your comment. See our guidelines for posting comments.
