Case Story

West Sacramento’s Path to a Safer, Healthier Community is an example of cross-agency collaboration in support of youth and families having access to a healthier community and safer access to get to and from community resources. Click on the article to the right to learn more about how the City of West Sacramento, Washington Unified School District and the non-profit Yolo County Children’s Alliance worked together through challenges to build and develop an important and treasured community amenity.

Update! In November 2017, the City of West Sacramento was awarded $5.1 million dollars to construct the bicycle and pedestrian route over Highway 50. The funding, from the California Natural Resource Agency, will allow for construction of an highway overcossing connecting the northern and souther parts of the city.
