Grass Valley has already implemented programs that have resulted in or will lead to benefits in the form of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water efficiency.  Summarized below are activities that the city has initiated to meet their resource and energy efficiency goals:

  • The city’s Development Code includes the following examples of energy conservation measures: energy efficient exterior lights, landscaping standards and irrigation efficiency for water and energy savings, solar access and expedited and streamlined solar permitting process, and energy conservation in the layout of subdivisions. 
  • In August 2016, OpTerra Energy Services completed construction of the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Power Generation Project for the City of Grass Valley, which included solar, lighting retrofits, pump retrofits, and roof replacement
  • The City Council unanimously approved a cooperative agreement to allow mPOWER to administer the PACE Program in the City of Grass Valley
