- Established downtown Green District using Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant (EECBG) funds to conduct energy audits and provide enhanced delivery of energy efficiency services to residential and commercial facilities
- Incorporated agricultural preservation as a key focus of its general plan update
- Creating Sustainable Delano Element in the General Plan
- Working to establish Green Business certification program
- Installed a compressed natural gas (CNG) station at the City’s Corporation Yard, which is used by the city’s Delano Area Rapid Transit (DART) buses
- Hosted two California Almond Sustainability Program workshops, March 2011
